30Level the beta was set to reachBlizzard: the cap started at 20 and would be raised to 30 later. Testing ran through October 21, 2026.

The September play reports cited here stop at 20. Zephan's Wowhead guide, updated October 9, says the beta could be played to 30. Blizzard's announcement does not give the day the cap moved.45

What is the best leveling class in WoW Forever?

Blizzard has not named the best leveling class in WoW Forever. Impakt's Icy Veins guide, updated October 17, 2026, says "Beast Mastery Hunters are the strongest levelers in World of Warcraft Forever." It follows that spec to level 60, including Bestial Wrath, with no timed beta runs. The beta was not a level-60 test.14

u/tenehemia, on September 28, ranked four classes he had taken to 20 by enjoyment and how smooth they felt: Hunter, then Warrior, then Warlock, then Paladin. He wrote that Paladin was "still very much the autoattack class at this level," and he wanted points in Pursuit of Justice before questing would feel better.8

Impakt is judging a 1–60 guide. u/tenehemia is judging four characters inside the level-20 phase. No stream VOD gathered for this article timed one class against another.

What is the easiest class in WoW Forever?

The easiest class in WoW Forever is not settled. On September 27, u/robotmoxie named Warlock. u/ArtisticChemistry125 shortened the choice to Beast Mastery Hunter, then Retribution Paladin. On September 28, u/NoDuck7588 and u/Milky_T33Ts, after playing several classes to 20, also called Warlock the easiest.23

On September 27, u/robotmoxie answered the r/wowforever thread "Easiest Class?" with Warlock: a pet benefit like Hunter's, little downtime, Life Tap and drains, and a Voidwalker after level 10 to hold aggro while damage-over-time spells ran. That reply says, "I'd recommend it to anyone as their first class." Another reply in the thread, from u/ArtisticChemistry125, shortens the choice to "BM Hunter, then Ret Paladin," puts Retribution second because it does more damage than Protection, and treats Feign Death as a stronger escape than Divine Shield.2

The next day's thread, "How was your experience with your class?", drew 137 comments. The page fetched for this article showed 49 of them. u/NoDuck7588 had leveled Warlock, Druid, Warrior, and Priest to 20 and wrote "Warlock was probably the easiest." u/Milky_T33Ts wrote, "Warlock by far has been the easiest, dots, pet + wand was enough to comfortably take on 3 mobs." The same comment calls Paladin leveling "a breeze," Hunter "a bit of a pain until you get your pet," and Warrior "abysmal," slow, and dangerous on every pull.3

Other replies in that thread liked Warrior, or found Druid easy. Those reports are under the class headings below.

How did beta players level Hunter in WoW Forever?

Hunter leveling in WoW Forever uses Mana in this site's beta snapshot, and the spec players name is Beast Mastery. Aimed Shot is baseline at level 20. September posts describe a break at level 10, when the pet arrives. Blizzard says the pet can tank in solo and small-group play.673

On the official forum on October 4, SirWilliams said he had leveled Survival and that Hunter "feels powerful leveling but it always has." Archimtiros called it a "very powerful leveler" and added that it is "still a little easy to mana starve if you just spam buttons." Chombi wrote that Hunter is "dominant in open world questing," and in the same post said he had not played much Hunter in the beta, so that line is his general view.9

In the September 28 thread, u/Milky_T33Ts disliked the levels before the pet and the need to keep both Auto Shot and a melee swing on the bars when a mob crossed the gap he called the dead zone. u/dave8400, a Hunter main since 2006, wrote "complete ass before level 10 then amazing post level 10." u/SirHangingChad described the same break, rough before 10 and strong from 10 to 20. u/ManThatUsesInternet called it "fairly autopilot" after 10. u/coaa85 was glad to have Aimed Shot and Multi-Shot together, then annoyed that they share a cooldown.3

u/Hanshee, on September 27, called Hunter "the best pvp and leveling class in the early stages of the game" and said that was unsurprising "on a beta where cap is 20." That is one player's read of who was online during the level-20 phase. A reply in the same thread, from u/climaxe, tied the crowds of Hunters and Undead Paladins to the new race and class combinations.10

Blizzard's Hunter deep dive is the published kit those reports are reacting to. Hunters have one combat role, damage, and "can utilize their pet as a tank in solo and small group play." Aimed Shot is baseline at level 20. Arcane Shot no longer shares a cooldown with it. Multi-Shot does. Traps work in combat, on a 30-second cooldown, and still have to be placed at the Hunter's own location. Pets gain stats from the Hunter's gear and can no longer receive player buffs that increase stats. Ranged abilities stop working in the "dead zone" within 8 yards. Hunters cannot stun or interrupt. Summon Hawk, the 16-point Beast Mastery talent, deals instant damage and summons a hawk for 18 seconds, up to two at once, on a cooldown shared with Arcane Shot.7

The October 3 snapshot's Aimed Shot text also says the shot shares its cooldown with Multi-Shot. Tame Beast is in that snapshot, and the row does not print a required level. Impakt's guide states the first pet at level 10 and tells the reader to send the pet in before shooting. The players above describe that same level as the turn.61

Impakt also writes that Auto Shot plus the pet can still kill a normal enemy on an empty mana bar, and that Feign Death drops combat if the pet dies. Blizzard's survival notes still name Feign Death when they fold Improved Feign Death into Resourcefulness. The October 3 snapshot has no spell named Feign Death, so there is no tooltip here to quote.176

How did beta players level Paladin in WoW Forever?

Paladin leveling in WoW Forever also uses Mana in the October 3 snapshot, and the tree players name is Retribution. Holy Strike is learned at level 6. Consecration is learned at level 20, which is where Hat said dungeon tanking "flipped." Reports from the September 28 thread do not agree on whether the kit feels fast.611123

On September 25, Hat posted a tank retrospective after taking Paladin, Druid, Warrior, and Shaman to 20. His Paladin was Undead, the only Paladin race he said he could play while grouped with Horde friends. Levels 1–10 "went fairly fast and smooth" on poor gear. He credited two changes: Judgement no longer consuming the active Seal, and Holy Strike. Questing from 10 to 20 stayed "fairly smooth, if not teensy bit on the slow side." Tanking a dungeon he abbreviated RFC, around level 14 and before Consecration, "feels awful." At 20 he wrote, "once I got Consecration at 20? Whole thing flipped."12

Blizzard's Paladin deep dive matches the two tools he named. Holy Strike is learned at level 6 and "deals instant Holy damage to the target based on 50% of equipped weapon damage plus a bonus that increases with each new rank." The October 3 tooltip stores that weapon-damage percentage as a client-defined value, so the 50% figure is the deep dive, not the snapshot text. Judgement no longer consumes the active Seal. Consecration is learned by every Paladin at level 20. It deals moderate damage to the first 4 enemies who enter it and very low damage to the rest. The deep dive says Paladins have limited ranged attacks, no interrupt, and no way to slow an enemy's movement. Pursuit of Justice was raised from 8% movement speed to 15%, for the same number of talent points. That is the talent u/tenehemia wanted for questing.1168

The September 28 thread does not settle whether that kit feels fast. u/Milky_T33Ts, who had not played Paladin in vanilla, said leveling "was a breeze." u/mute_companions called it smooth and "autopilot." u/YesNoMaybe2552 liked a Holy build in damage gear with a two-handed weapon and wrote that its kill time was "significantly faster" than Protection Paladins using a shield. u/Porttheone called levels 1–20 "very slow with like 3 buttons," and wrote that Holy Strike "hits like a wet noodle most of the time." u/Daynebutter, writing about Paladins he had seen rather than a character he had timed, said they "seem overtuned and hit very hard."3

Twist of Light, the Retribution 31-point talent Blizzard describes as the new seal twist, sits past a level-30 character on this site's calculator. The beta Hat and the September thread were playing could not reach it. Hat was explicit that he was still waiting for the cap to rise.111312

u/Deathwolf511 tried an Undead Paladin only to level 6 and wrote that those levels felt better than Paladin ever had for him. Human Hunter, Undead Paladin, and Troll Warlock are three of the six new combinations in the race and class guide.314

How did beta players level Warlock in WoW Forever?

Warlock leveling in WoW Forever uses Mana in the snapshot. u/robotmoxie and Zephan both talk about Affliction: damage-over-time spells, drains, and a demon. Zephan's October 9 guide, written as first-hand beta leveling to 30, places the Succubus at level 20 and calls a two-mob pull the fastest Affliction pattern at that cap.25

Zephan labels the guide as first-hand beta leveling, current only for the build he was on, and he says the beta could be played to 30. His description of Affliction at that cap: Drain Life is the filler, replacing wand time, and the health it returns covers both hits taken and the health Life Tap spends. He estimates the Succubus at about one and a half times the Voidwalker's damage, and he writes that without Demonology talents she does not hold the mob, so he expects it on the Warlock for about half the fight while Drain Life heals. He still recommends the Voidwalker when the hits are too hard or the gear is thin. He calls a two-mob pull the fastest way to level Affliction at 30: Corruption, Bane of Agony, and Fear on the first, then the Succubus and the same damage-over-time spells on the second, Drain Life, and a fresh Fear when the first one ends. His hints say Fear can cause unintended pulls.5

Blizzard's Warlock deep dive says pets now scale from the summoner's stats, and Life Tap scales with Spirit. The snapshot's Life Tap text says the same thing about Spirit. Curse of Agony and Curse of Doom are now Banes, which is the name Zephan uses. Affliction, in Blizzard's summary, sustains its own health with draining spells. Demonology is the tree for keeping a foe on the pet. The closing line of that section: Warlocks "are still physically weak themselves, depending on their demon pets for protection." The snapshot's Fear hits one target, and damage can break it.156

u/Deathwolf511's September 28 comment is the Troll version of the same report. He wrote that Warlock "feels fantastic," that Troll Warlock was the combination he wanted, and that he was crediting Troll regeneration for a class that turns health into mana. The regeneration line is his reason. The racial tooltip is on the Troll page, which reads the same October 3 snapshot.36

What did players report for the other six WoW Forever classes?

Warrior, Druid, Shaman, Mage, Priest, and Rogue each drew shorter WoW Forever beta notes than Hunter, Paladin, and Warlock. Blizzard's class deep dives are the published kits those notes are reacting to. The posts below are player reports, and Blizzard has said abilities can still change.76

Warrior. Blizzard's Warrior deep dive says there are bugs with Rage generation in the beta and that the team was still tracking down the cause. In that beta, critical strikes gave no extra Rage. The deep dive says critical strikes will give 75% more Rage than other hits. Rage from damage taken ignores armor, using the old formula as if armor always reduced damage by 50%. Victory Rush is learned at level 20: an instant attack on a 30-second cooldown that heals 10% of maximum health, available for 20 seconds after a non-trivial kill. The class summary says Warriors lack the tools to recover easily once they have taken too much damage.16

Players who posted that week did not describe one Warrior. Hat, questing a Tauren to 10, "never once had to stop to eat or bandage," and said Thunder Clap at level 6 let him fight packs. His first RFC was bad until a weapon drop, then better after points in Shield Specialization. u/Milky_T33Ts "hated every minute" and called every fight dangerous. u/NoDuck7588, who had mained Warrior in Classic, wrote that Rage from 1–20 "was not substantially different" and that missing a Rage spike on a critical hit felt bad. That last complaint is the gap Blizzard describes in the deep dive. u/EnderCN struggled around levels 8–12, then called it smooth after a weapon upgrade. u/YesNoMaybe2552 stopped the Warrior and made a Warlock.12316

Druid. Hat's Tauren from 1–10 "feels terrible": Wrath and Moonfire, no form, and some fights he could barely finish. He wrote that Bear Form, sometime in 10–20, made questing acceptable, and that Swipe looked basically unchanged. u/EnderCN called Druid "super easy from level 1" if the player uses the weapon early. u/Bean03 pulled two mobs once Rejuvenation was up, and faster again in Bear Form, and preferred that to the Shaman and Rogue he also tried. u/NoDuck7588 said 1–10 was manageable with careful pulls and got easier at 10, again at 16, and again at 20. u/Expert-Pudding7581 recommended a Skyborne Druid after liking the run to 20.123

Blizzard's Druid deep dive says Wrath was redesigned to cost much less mana and deal much less damage to match. Nature's Grasp is baseline at level 10. Omen of Clarity is baseline at level 20. The same article marks some Feral talents, including Shifting Power, as not in the beta yet. Druids can fill any role and, in that writeup, cannot snare, silence, or interrupt.7

Shaman. Hat called the Tauren questing through the teens quick, and wrote that dungeon mana stayed a problem until his last point at 20. Blizzard's new 11-point Enhancement talent, Shamanistic Focus, "reduces the Mana cost of Shocks and Lightning Shield by a large percentage." On this site's one-point-per-level rule, 11 points is level 20, which is the level Hat named. u/Minkare took a Dwarf Enhancement Shaman to 20, healed Deadmines and two dungeons he abbreviated HoT and WC, and called a two-handed weapon the thing that made it smooth. u/kevinisleet stopped at 18.8 and wrote that it was weak unless he spent all his mana and drank after every kill, and that Stormstrike was not available yet.1217313

Blizzard moved Stormstrike from the 31-point slot to the 16-point slot and cut its cooldown from 20 seconds to 8. Sixteen points is level 25 on this site's calculator, so it sat past the level-20 phase and inside the later level-30 cap. Ghost Wolf, in the October 3 snapshot, raises speed by 40% and works only outdoors. Improved Ghost Wolf's second rank makes that form instant, and its first rank allows it indoors.17613

Mage. u/mute_companions found Mage engaging and remembered how much drinking followed each pull. u/PossessedCashew drank after every kill or two, got bored, and rolled a Paladin. u/Lardbucket68 grouped Mage with Warlock and Paladin as the ones that felt great, and called Mage "especially quick." Blizzard's Mage writeup calls the class fragile in melee, with Polymorph as a standout crowd-control spell and a wider set of area damage than other classes. Improved Blizzard's slow was cut from 65% to a maximum of 40% to reduce area-of-effect farming inside instances.318

Priest. u/NoDuck7588 called Priest "very easy, especially once you get a wand." u/geezerforhire quested without food once a wand was equipped and liked the occasional save on another player. u/Milky_T33Ts found Priest slower than Warlock, with no pet to take aggro and a lot of wand time, and told people to buy a wand at level 5. u/EnderCN said the early levels "kind of sucked" and that a wand was the large upgrade around level 10. Blizzard now gives every Priest Fear Ward and Devouring Plague at level 20, and Divine Spirit at level 30. Shadow Word: Death is baseline at level 32, two levels past the cap the beta was set to reach. The class writeup calls Priests the most versatile healer and a vulnerable cloth wearer with few ways to get away, relying on allies who can tank or control.319

Rogue. This set of posts has fewer Rogue play logs than pet-class logs. u/Bean03 said the Rogue he tried could stealth past pulls that cost the Druid time. u/Lardbucket68 put Rogue in the "OK" group with Warrior and Hunter, under Warlock, Mage, and Paladin. Blizzard's Rogue deep dive says Sap no longer breaks Stealth, and that whichever spec a Rogue plays, the class has "the highest potential single-target melee damage in the game." That sentence describes a damage ceiling.315

Is there a WoW Forever leveling class tier list?

Blizzard has not published a WoW Forever leveling class tier list. The Wowhead page people find under a tier-list search is Riyani's level-30 damage and party-utility ranking, updated October 8, 2026, and he says it should not decide which spec someone plays. Impakt's Icy Veins page is the guide that does rank leveling, and it ranks Beast Mastery first.201

The Wowhead list people will find under a tier-list search is a different question. Riyani's "DPS Tier List Level 30," updated October 8, 2026, ranks damage and party utility at the beta cap. His order is Hunter, Warlock, and Enhancement Shaman in S; Mage, Paladin, Warrior, and Rogue in A; Feral Druid and Elemental Shaman in B; Shadow Priest and Balance Druid in C. He writes that the list "must be taken with a huge grain of salt" and should not decide which spec someone plays. He also writes that Mage and Warlock have the highest area damage in these early levels, and that Hunter is strong when a group pulls few targets at once. The comments under that page argue with the placements.20

Impakt's Icy Veins page is the guide that does rank leveling, and it ranks Beast Mastery first, for a road to 60 the beta did not open. A separate Icy Veins Marksmanship leveling page says Marksmanship is strong largely because Hunters are, and "quite a bit worse" for leveling than Beast Mastery. The Survival page says Survival is the weakest Hunter spec to level, especially before 40, because the melee talents sit deeper in the tree.12122

What could the level-30 WoW Forever beta not show?

The level-30 WoW Forever beta could not show 31-point capstones or Dual Specialization. Talents start at level 10. This site's talent guide grants one point per level from 10 through 60, 51 points in all, so a level-30 character has 21 points. Dual Specialization is level 40 in the deep dives.137

Dual Specialization is level 40 in the deep dives, the same level the 31st point lands on under this rule. The level column is that arithmetic. Every class deep dive cited here also says talents and abilities can keep changing through the beta. The class pages and the talent calculator read the reviewed snapshot: beta client 1.60.1.70205, retrieved October 3, 2026. About and sources describes those records as development data. A guide dated later in October can be describing a newer build than that snapshot.6

Early Name Reservation runs October 27 through November 3, 2026. Creating the character is how the name is reserved, and the cap for that window is three characters in one shared pool. The Forever overview dates launch at November 4, 2026, and records both clocks Blizzard has published for that day.2324
